INFLAMMATION the silent pandemic
To pick up on my blog post about The Silent Pandemic, it is now widely accepted that the root cause of autoimmune disease is inflammation.
The root cause of autoimmune disease is inflammation
The last few weeks I have been writing about arthritis - which is one of the many autoimmune diseases, because my own encounter with inflammation was arthritis after a fall. When talking about arthritis, it is mostly about degenerative osteoarthritis, as an age-related disease.
Chronic inflammation and its consequences are largely the western world's lifestyle and malnutrition, which is spreading globally
It is never too late to change yourself and your habits
I can feel kind of sorry in conversation with especially the older generation, when I tell them that I am now arthritis free after my fall by changing my diets.
Many suffer from daily pain and must take painkillers or other medications daily or during the week. The pain can be bodily pain, such as muscle and joint pain, osteoarthritis, headache, migraine, diabetes2 or they are living with cancer, have high blood pressure or cholesterol. Everything that can be changed, reduced and prevented, even completely disappear by dietary changes, daily movement and mental exercises in the form of breathing practice and meditation, which can be lying down, sitting, standing or walking, whatever suits the individual pain sufferer person best.
When I mention diet change, the comment often sounds like I have always eaten this way, that is what I have learned. No one has the thought that the wheat in the bread has changed. Processed food is full of additives, sweeten and flavor-enhances all the E-number, which contributes to malnutrition. Another equally frequent comment is I have lived with these pains for many years, it is hereditary, so I cannot change that. However, we now know from countless epigenetic studies that genetic inheritance is only 5%, the rest is environment, our habits and what we think and believe in.
You are what you think – You are what you eat
My recommendation for inflammation elimination is always to start with processed food – anything that is packaging in a box – from frost or refrigeration. Next, sugar and sweeteners. The following elimination order will be individual since we all have different constellations.
Think about buying and eating more of the food without a content label, fresh vegetables and fruits, meat from free-range animals, and fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, herring and sardines.
Grounding
Practice grounding by walking barefoot as much as possible. Walk barefoot on grass and on the ground, on a sandy beach when the temperature allows. When you go for a walk-in nature in autumn or winter, embrace the trees because in this way you also get grounding, which has a healing effect both physically and mentally. Root vegetables, red fruits and vegetables also provide grounding. Grounding provides our physical bodies with energy and vitality and banishes fatigue and lethargy.
The next blog post will deal with sugar and sweeteners.
